中國領(lǐng)先的大數(shù)據(jù)平臺廠商星環(huán)科技已具備世界級競爭力

中國的經(jīng)濟和科技產(chǎn)業(yè)在過去的幾十年中得到了快速的發(fā)展。這對全球范圍內(nèi)的競爭有何意義?我們的中國同行們又在做什么樣的創(chuàng)新呢?

(10月3日，在硅谷最牛的大數(shù)據(jù)分析公司W(wǎng)ikibon組織的會議上，Siliconangel認為Transwarp 已經(jīng)具備進入美國的能力。)

在硅谷視角傳媒(SiliconANGLE Media)團隊制作theCUBE節(jié)目中，主持人Dave Vellante和George Gilbert與星環(huán)科技的聯(lián)合創(chuàng)始人兼CTO孫元浩共同探討了星環(huán)的產(chǎn)品以及和美國的Hadoop廠商在規(guī)模上的比較。

Hadoop核心上的SQL層

星環(huán)科技提供多個建立在同一個Hadoop核心上的專有產(chǎn)品。與眾不同的是，這個Hadoop和核心本身是開源的。Transwarp Data Hub是中國頂尖的Hadoop發(fā)行版。Transwarp Data Hub追求以客戶需求為導(dǎo)向，利用在Hadoop核心上打造SQL引擎，使得企業(yè)客戶能夠?qū)⒃衅脚_上的傳統(tǒng)應(yīng)用輕松遷移到大數(shù)據(jù)平臺上。

星環(huán)科技的其他專有產(chǎn)品也采用了相似的策略。同時，Gilbert注意到,相對美國的大數(shù)據(jù)用戶，中國用戶更關(guān)心大數(shù)據(jù)帶來的實際效果。

規(guī)模

讓人印象最為深刻的是星環(huán)科技部署的大數(shù)據(jù)平臺的規(guī)模。孫元浩提到星環(huán)科技為一家大型運營商打造的大容量數(shù)據(jù)平臺存儲了“20PB”的數(shù)據(jù)。同時，星環(huán)科技的產(chǎn)品服務(wù)于各種規(guī)模的場景，據(jù)其網(wǎng)站介紹，可以提供“10GB到100PB”的部署。星環(huán)科技已經(jīng)為成為國際上的大數(shù)據(jù)廠商有力競爭者做好準備。星環(huán)科技攜其專有產(chǎn)品進軍美國市場的過程值得我們關(guān)注。

Transwarp Technologies uses open source and non-proprietary Hadoop core

The Chinese economy and technology industry have been booming in the past several decades. What does this mean for global competition, and where are our Chinese counterparts innovating?

Dave Vellante and George Gilbert, cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, sat down with Yuanhao Sun, cofounder and CTO of Transwarp Technology, Inc., to gain insight on what Transwarp offers and how it compares in size to U.S. Hadoop vendors.

SQL layer on Hadoop core

Transwarp offers several proprietary products that are built upon a Hadoop core. What’s unique about this Hadoop core is that it is open source and non-proprietary. Transwarp Data Hub is the number one Hadoop distribution available in China; it’s specific to customer demands. This distribution makes it easy for the company’s customers to transition their legacy applications from old infrastructure to new infrastructure. This is done by a SQL engine layer on top of a Hadoop core.

Similar methodology is used to apply other proprietary products, and as Gilbert noticed Chinese customers appear to be more interested in the results compared to their American contemporaries.

Scale

The incredible scale of this deployment is what might be most impressive about Transwarp Technologies. Sun mentioned an example “20 petabyte” customer launch for a large telco that requires large data storage requirements to amass its data. The scales vary quite widely for its distribution, being able to handle “10GB to 100PB” deployments according to its website.

Transwarp is poised to be an international Big Data competitor, and it’ll be worth looking at its entry into the U.S. market with some of its proprietary solutions.
